Pastor Bruce Osterhout - Designated Pastor
Pastor Bruce Osterhout is now the Designated Pastor of Hope Lutheran Church. He coordinates the scheduling of the Sunday Morning Worship Service Supply Pastors. He has served in Berks County since 1990. He is currently the Called Pastor at Bethany Lutheran Church, West Reading (worship at 9:30 am) and the Contracted Pastor at Christ Lutheran Church in the Glenside neighborhood of NW Reading (worship at 11 a.m.) On many Sundays, you may see him in the rear of the church during worship as he passes from one church to the other. You will often find him on Tuesdays at Hope’s Table and at Cafe Esperanza. He and his wife, Pastor Julie Osterhout, live in Wernersville. They have 4 grandsons and 7 grand-daughters. Scott Schaeffer - Director of Music
I am happy to serve as the director of music and have been doing so for more than 39 years. It has been a pleasure for me to have grown up at Hope and have had the opportunity to watch the growth of this exciting congregation. I have the joy of working with many talented musicians here at Hope, as well as a congregation willing to grow and experience new ways to worship our Lord, while never losing site of the understanding that we do what we do to the Glory of God! As the psalmist wrote: "Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth"!
I am married to my wife Judy and have 2 children. Matt is married to Amanda and have 2 children, Carter and Jaxon. Becky is married to Jon and have 2 children, Delani and Corbin.
